| Great Grey Heron in Flight |
The Great Grey Heron is a huge bird, yet deceivingly agile in the air. The huge wing-span is especially impressive when she is coming heads-on, as I was lucky enough to encounter in this photo. The funny look she gave me is priceless...
What do I like about this photo? The eye contact makes everything more personal. The wings are in an interesting pose, with lots of detail visible in them.
What would I want to improve? The background is dull - a partially cloudy sky would have been preferable. Even better, some back-lighting (the sun on the back) would have made for a much more striking photo.
