| Sparkling Pied Kingfisher |
This Pied Kingfisher was fishing pretty close to me. So much so that he virtually filled my frame! Even better, I got some backlight (the sun was behind him, although higher up) to shine through the feathers. So we get great visibility and details on each feather, and a sparkling water droplet at the end of the beak. Awesome!
What do I like about this photo? The pose is great, with the wings and tail fully extended. The amount of details is awesome. You can observe tiny water droplets on the feathers in the tail, and a sparkling one at the end of the beak.
What would I want to improve? I'm missing the tip of one of the feathers on the left. Other than that, I'm really happy with this photo.
