| The World in a Water-Drop |
Going in the minimalistic direction, sometimes the beauty of nature can be observed in tiny things. Take this water-drop, for example: it was 1mm large, but you can see the surroundings and the sun reflecting in it beautifully.
What do I like about this photo? It's very elegant and minimalistic. Nothing to divert the attention from the beauty in the water-drop. The water-drop (and whatever it's reflecting) is sharp, and the rest is blurred out. The lighting also makes the subject stand out, and the partially-blurred leaf draws attention to the subject as well.
What would I want to improve? I would have wanted to get a bit closer, and have more details on the water-drop. Unfortunately I left the lens that would have allowed me to to that in my car that day, as I was not expecting to photograph such tiny objects. A lesson well-learnt - always come prepared!
