| Butterfly Close-Up |
Spring is coming and the butterflies are filling the air again. There's a large number of these white beauties around the area I live right now, so I couldn't help but grab a few close-up photos of them. Note the "furry" body, the interesting eyes, the patterns on the wings, and the details on the leaf it stands on. I love it when photos show details we have a hard time perceiving with our naked eyes!
What do I like about this photo? The details, obviously. The head of the butterfly is very sharp, as is the leaf it's standing on. The background is blurred out, since i used a relatively open aperture (f/6.3).
What would I want to improve? I would love to have all the body in focus, but that would probably have required a very closed shutter (f/22 or something similar), which would have made the background less blurred, or focus stacking, which was not possible this windy day.
