| Graceful Prinia Amongst the Flowers |
The Graceful Prinia makes quite a loud noise. It's always fun to see the surprise on people's faces when they first associate the sound with the tiny bird. This one was singing happily while standing amongst the yellow flowers - what a setting! I was lucky to get close enough to show you the details.
What do I like about this photo? The color contrast between the bird and the background really makes it stand out. As does the shallow depth of field, which is the result of me using an open aperture (f/6.3 - the most open my lens supports at the focal length of 400mm that I used), causing the bird to be sharp but the background blurred. There's also a nice amount of details on the bird.
What would I want to improve? The beautiful tail is hidden somewhat - would have been better to have it fully visible. Also, the sun is coming from behind the bird, so its face is a bit dark...
