| Pied Kingfisher on the Way Down |
The incredible Pied Kingfisher a split second after it has found a fish in the water and is diving down at incredible speed to grab it. Notice the wings are in the process of being folded in, to create an aerodynamic form.
What do I like about this photo? It's a beautiful pose that's very hard to observe with the naked eye, as it happens lightning-fast in nature. I used a fast shutter speed (1/2500 of a second) to freeze the action, making this visible.
What would I want to improve? A bit of a more interesting background would have been great, especially if it were darker.
