Graceful Prinia Close-Up |
The tiny Graceful Prinia finally got close enough to me so I was able to grab a photo with a good amount of detail on this elegant little bird.
What do I like about this photo? The amount of detail, and the dynamic pose, with the beak slightly open and the tail raised up in a typical fashion. I used an open aperture (f/6.3 - the most open my lens supports at the focal length of 400mm that I used) to create a shallow depth of field, so the Prinia is in focus but the background is blurred out. This way there's good separation between them and the Prinia stands out.
What would I want to improve? The background, while blurred, is still a bit too noisy for my taste. I would have preferred a more "boring" background.
