| Orange Butterfly on White Flower |
Sometimes nature creates wonderful compositions for us - like this tiny orange butterfly conveniently standing on a while and yellow flower, with the green background behind. I couldn't have planned it better myself!
What do I like about this photo? The sun is a bit behind the butterfly, so its semi-transparent wings are shining with the sunlight. The color combination and contrast is really good here, as well. I used an open aperture to create a shallow depth of field, so the butterfly and the flower are in focus, but the background is blurred out. This creates really nice separation between the subject and the background.
What would I want to improve? The diagonal branch at the left bottom corner just grabs unnecessary attention - I would have liked for it not to be there.
