Chameleon on Our Tree! |
The other day when my wife and me were enjoying our garden we suddenly noticed something green move on one of the ropes of our hammock, which is hanging on a huge tree. On closer inspection this turned out to be a Chameleon! The Chameleon had second thoughts and headed back to the tree, and I headed home to grab my camera. Luckily, I was able to locate it climbing up the tree, and even managed to grab a nice shot!
What do I like about this photo? The beautiful subject, of course, complete with the incredible camouflage it has. If you wouldn't know a Chameleon was there you would have never spotted it! The amount of details is huge (do enlarge the photo), including wonderful details on the head. We even have a glitter in the eye! I used an open shutter to create a shallow depth of field, which really makes the Chameleon stand out since its in focus and the background is not.
What would I want to improve? The depth of field is a bit too shallow - the tail is not in focus. In hindsight I should have closed the shutter a bit more to get the tail into focus as well.
