Leopard Sleeping on a Tree |
Leopards are very hard to spot in nature, in that they're solitary hunters, and very adept at hiding. How do you spot a Leopard in a Safari trip? Usually you follow others - if there's a large group of cars next to each other, there's a good chance one of the big cats is the main attraction there!
This is exactly what happened to us in Kruger National Park (South Africa) the day before we headed back home. Lots of cars, one sleeping Leopard on a branch. It was very hard to get a clean view, but I did manage to take a (somewhat) reasonable photo.
What do i like about this photo? The Leopard, obviously! In a distinct cat pose, unaware of the commotion around him :)
What would I want to improve? Almost everything. I would have liked to be closer to get better details. And have a less obstructed view. Eye contact would have been truly amazing...
