This is a prime example of what happens when the sunlight is coming from behind the subject, and the background is dark enough - magic!
What do I like about this photo? The lighting, obviously! The Dragonfly just shines! The pose is also dynamic and interesting, with the curved branch adding some interest. There's good color contrast between the Dragonfly and the background, as well. I used an open aperture to create a shallow depth of field, so the Dragonfly is in focus but the background is blurred out.
What would I want to improve? Some parts of the wings are not in focus, as a result of the shallow depth of field. A more closed down aperture might solve that, but would also make the background less blurry and more noisy.
