Common Kestrel Couple |
I was observing the Male Common Kestrel (on the left) when suddenly, the female joined him. What a joy! The females are slightly larger, and differ from the males in that their heads and tails have the same pattern on them as the rest of the body (the males have grey heads and tails). It's pretty amazing to see how these raptors are able to balance themselves on pretty thin branches.
